Brooksbank Valves will be showcasing their new range of Nickel- Aluminium Bronze and Super Duplex Triple Offset Butterfly valves at Valveworld this November.

Brooksbank Valves are pleased to announce the successful requalification of its Nickel-Aluminium Bronze ball valves to the latest and most stringent international standard ISO 10497. The testing, which was conducted as part of a major project for an offshore platform involved filling the valve with water and pressurising it. It was then enveloped in flames to an environmental temperature of 750°C to 1000°C and the internal and external leakage was measured during and after to ensure it complied with the qualifications of the test.

Historically, low melting point alloys were covered by a ‘firesafe by design statement’ following the testing of a steel valve of the same design. Having successfully completed our ball valve requalification programme, we can now offer a complete range of firesafe floating ball valves and trunnion mounted ball valves (8” +) where the valve being sold is the same material as the valve that was tested.

In recent years there have been many internal and external factors within the valve industry that have increased the demand of fire-safe valves and with this requalification, Managing Director Jonathan Brooksbank, believes the company is going from strength to strength and commented:

“As we are in our 65th year, it’s really encouraging to be moving towards our vision of being one of the leading manufacturers of Nickel-Aluminium Bronze and Exotic Alloy valves in the world. We now have the capability to offer a full range of valve products in specialist materials backed up by professional project management. The management of projects are never straightforward, it requires experience, dedication and teamwork, all of which we now have. It is also encouraging that we can carry out projects including the fitting and testing of a significant number of actuators on quarter turn valves."

Brooksbank will be exhibiting at Valveworld Dusseldorf, for the first time in many years and we are proud to launch our new range of Triple Offset Butterfly valves which will be available in NiAlBr and Exotic Alloys.”
