Properties
Alloy 400 is a Nickel-copper alloy also known as Monel® that can be hardened by cold working. It has high strength and toughness over a wide temperature range. It has excellent resistance to many corrosive environments, it is superior for hydrofluoric & other acids excluding nitric. It is especially good for higher flow rates and maintains its strength in temperatures below zero.

Applications
Alloy 400 is widely used in many fields, especially seawater, marine and chemical processing. Typical applications are valves. It is especially good for valve trims, pumps; pump and propeller shafts, marine fixtures and fasteners, springs, chemical processing equipment, gasoline and fresh water tanks, crude petroleum process vessels and piping, water heaters and heat exchangers.
